There's a very cool application called Keyhole, described as the "Ultimate Interface to the Planet", that allows anyone using a computer with 3D graphic capabilities to fly from space to see thousands of cities and more than 80 of the major metropolitan areas of this planet.
Satellite imagery makes it real. It's a Superman ride!
I've been able to take Andy from his hospital room to see the place where he was born, I showed him my schools, he saw the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Colosseum of Rome and the Athens Parthenon. He saw the place where his greatgrandparents live in Veracruz Mexico.
And I've created a tour of all the hospitals we've visited with Andy prior to his stem cell transplant.

The door of Room 613
The two labels on the sign were taken from the plastic bags that carried the stem cells from Sofia's umbilical cord and from her bone marrow.
Almost every one of the 13 rooms at 6W - Stem Cell Transplant Unit at Children's Hospital Boston has a similar sign, it's created by the nurses.

Adenoviruses are medium-sized (90-100 nm), nonenveloped icosahedral viruses containing double-stranded DNA. There are 51 immunologically distinct types (6 subgenera: A through F) that can cause human infections. Adenoviruses most commonly cause illness of the respiratory system; however, depending on the infecting serotype, they may also cause various other illnesses, such as gastroenteritis, conjunctivitis, cystitis, and rash illness. Most infections are mild and require no therapy or only symptomatic treatment. Because there is no virus-specific therapy, serious adenovirus illness can be managed only by treating symptoms and complications of the infection.

Andy received the Power Ranger slippers and pajama today and he loved them! They arrived just in time, doctors took him off 'contact precautions' today and he felt like going to the hallway to show off his new outfit.

Muchas gracias por sus oraciones. Andy va muy bien y Sofía también!
Aqui tratamos de seguir su ejemplo. No nos deja de asombrar que de sus ocho hijos, cuatro y cuatro tienen el mismo 'HLA' (human leukocite antigen) que es una proteína de la célula del cuerpo que permite reconocer lo propio de lo externo. Por lo general, uno de cada cuatro hijos tienen el mismo HLA, pero en su caso, la familia es un complemento perfecto.
Sofía es 100% HLA compatible con Andy y es por esto que su transplante de células madre va muy bien.
Seguimos rezando porque se ponga fuerte su médula ósea y porque no le den infecciones en por lo menos 83 días.

Estimados Santio, Manolo y Carmina:
Hace unos minutos llegó al cuarto 613 una caja enorme de Amazon.com, la trajo la secretaria del piso. Adentro de la caja venía un saco que pusimos en la cama de Andy. Y al abrirlo se emocionó muchisimo al ver la máscara de Dart Vader!
Anda asustando a todas las enfermeras porque aparte de todo la máscara le cambia la voz. Y nos viene muy bien porque al salir del hospital (esperamos ya pronto..) necesita usarlas. Esta si se la pone!

There's a special place at Children's Hospital Boston. Where all who work there are like from our own family. They understand our needs and take part on Andy's care. We have really benefited from the services and care provided at the Center for Families. We use their computers, ask for advice, talk to them about some of the decisions we have to take regarding care, they even give Paulina advice about knitting, they give us cheers and they always, always have a great smile for Andy.
Well, tonight they gave us 2 tickets to see The Lion King at the Opera House. The show was great!
Grandpa Victor & Grandma Marilu stayed with Andy.

Mucositis is a complication of chemotherapy. It is characterized by mouth sores and changes in the mouth lining and throat that may continue throughout the length of the digstive system (throat, Stomach and intestines).
Mouth sores usually develop several days after the chemotherapy is given, and they may continue until the white blood cell count returns and increases.
